Policy Strategy for Improving the Traceability and Transparency of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) Feedstock For Biodiesel by Including Independent Smallholders In a Sustainable Supply Chain

This Policy Paper is intended as a strategic recommendation for sustainable CPO governance policies to complement existing policies. The main points in the formulation of this policy paper are:
(1) increasing the standardization of traceability and transparency of independent smallholders’ FFB as the raw material for sustainable CPO; (2) placing independent smallholders in the supply chain for sustainable CPO to improve their welfare; and (3) increasing implementation of best agricultural practices to improve sustainability.
